Every year The Gathering holds a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and Family Business Meeting + Celebration to celebrate all that God has done and to discuss nominations and budget for the upcoming year.

Volunteer Dinner
If you have volunteered in the Gathering Body in 2025, you are invited! Doors will open at 5:45PM and the meal will begin at 6:15. Pre-registration is required.

Annual Family Meeting + Celebration

The celebration will be immediately following the volunteer dinner at 7:00PM. Please come and hear everything the Lord has done this year. The budget for 2026 will be presented, discussed, and voted on.
There will not be a regular Wednesday meal, Children’s Ministry, Youth classes, or other regularly scheduled classes.

Come celebrate the wonder of Christ’s birth at the Women's Christmas Tea, it's always a lovely afternoon of fellowship and reflection. Gather with friends and family as we share in the warmth of community, delicious tea treats, and the true meaning of the season—Jesus, the Light of the World.

Let your heart be refreshed and your spirit renewed as we honor the Savior’s love and the beauty of Christmas together.

It's on Saturday, December 6, 2:00 to 4:00, in the Gathering Worship Center. Cost is $15. Plan on coming early to participate in the Table Scavenger Hunt. Doors will open at 1:30.

All ages are welcome to the "Candlelight Christmas Caroling Bridge Walk" Friday, November 29th, at 6 pm.

Please meet at Soundside Park at the Christmas Tree.

We will walk across the bridge and back by candlelight, singing Christmas carols.

Battery operated candles and jingle bells will be provided for children and candles will be provided for adults. We will also enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies!

Welcome to the Gathering's Annual Thanksgiving Community Outreach!

The goal for 2025 is to take 500 Thanksgiving lunches to people in our community just to simply love on them the way Jesus wants us to.

1 John 4:19 says, "We love because He first loved us." Each year, The Gathering tries to do that through this outreach measure, but your help is needed.

You can help in two ways:

1.Reserve a plate(s) to take to someone who needs some love. This could be an unsaved neighbor, a new neighbor who is looking for connection, a shut-in who needs to hear that they are loved, a local small business office, a family who has fallen on hard times, or something else.

2.Donate food. Some food needs to be prepared and dropped off, some food just needs to be purchased and dropped off.

Gathering Missions is hosting the Blood Connection Community Blood Center bus for a blood drive. The bus will be parked behind The Gathering at the Surf City Fire Department.

Gathering Missions will receive a $10 donation for every donor that gives blood! Also, each donor will receive points that can be redeemed for a $30 eGift card - OR - donors can choose to pass that bonus onto Gathering Missions.

Scheduling your appointment ahead of time is appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome.

Wednesday, November 5th, is the 5th Annual Gathering Chili Cookoff! If you think you have the best chili sign up, bring a pot, and let’s find out whose is the best! As always, the runners up will receive prizes, but there will be only one to win the coveted Golden Toilet! Feel free to bring a side that pairs well with chili even if you’re not entering the chili contest. Hope you’re ready to have a blast!

Following Men's Breakfast, from 9:30-1:30, there will be a fall clean-up day inside and outside The Gathering facilities. Come help clean The Gathering from top to bottom, inside and out, including deep cleaning, lawn care, and landscaping.
